Is Gotham Knights Crossplay | How to Play with Friends Across Platforms?

Gotham Knights is an action RPG-styled game that may appeal to fans of the dark and crime-filled setting of Gotham City. The game takes place in the future when Batman dies in the line of duty, so players assume the roles of Batgirl, Nightwing, Robin, and Red Hood who need to pick up the crime-fighting mantle from their beloved hero. Intense story, vast sandbox, and variable fight system are suitable for cooperative mode or single-player.

Created by WB Games Montréal and launched in 2022, Gotham Knights is not a classic Batman game – instead, it’s a game set in the universe of Bat Family. Acting as direct successors to such celebrated DC comic heroes as Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman, the game interweaves elaborate plots with outstanding performances captivating the audience with up-to-date visualization. Does Gotham Knights Have Crossplay?

Yes, there’s crossplay in Gotham Knights, but it has its restrictions. For now, crossplay is only among the Xbox and PC and we are hoping that the same will follow in the PS. This functionality was implemented when a new patch was released on September 27, 2023. However, players who play on the PlayStation 5 platform are missing out on this aspect, and as of now, there is no assurance to integrate this crossplay across PlayStation 5.

Is Gotham Knights Crossplay Between PC, PlayStation, and Xbox?

For the moment, you cannot play Gotham Knights with players from different platforms, PC, Xbox, or PlayStation, directly. Xbox Series X|S and PC can share play, which means that players can play together with no problem. Unfortunately, PS5 players are not yet able to play in the same sessions as Xbox or PC at this moment.

Does Gotham Knights Allow Cross-Generational Play?

Unfortunately, you will not be able to play with those on a different console generation thanks to a lack of cross-gen play in Gotham Knights. For example, an Xbox Series X|S player can play with a PC player but the game is incompatible with Xbox One and other previous systems. Likewise, PlayStation 4 is not available as it is a current generation console exclusive game.

How Does Co-op Work in Gotham Knights?

This game allows for the formation of partnerships during play in the online co-op mode recreating the Batman partner Bruce experience. For console users, there is always an additional requirement of PlayStation Plus or Xbox Game Pass to participate in multiplayer. Sadly enough, couch co-op (local multiplayer) is unavailable.

Besides the main campaign with drops of two-player co-op, there is a free downloadable mode called Heroic Assault, which came out on November 29, 2022. This mode widens up the multiplayer system so that four players can join forces and complete missions as a team.
